Cavity wall insulation removal in Holbeach
Wet or slumped cavity fill taken out of the walls, so the damp patches stop and the cavity can do its job again.
Cavity wall insulation was meant to go in once and be forgotten. When it was badly installed, or has got wet over the years, it does the opposite of its job: the fill slumps, bridges the cavity, and carries damp straight across to the inside face of the wall. If you have damp patches or cold spots that redecorating never quite cures, the cavity is worth a proper look.
How failed fill shows itself
- Damp patches on inside walls that come back after every redecoration
- Cold spots on some walls while the rest of the room stays warm
- Problems worst on the side of the house that takes the driving rain
- A survey raising the cavity fill when the house is sold or remortgaged
What removal involves
Removal deals with the cause, not the stains on the plaster. The fill is drilled out and extracted from the cavity, and the wall is left with what it was designed to have in the first place: a clear gap keeping the outer skin and the inner skin properly apart. Once the wet material is out, the cavity can do its job again.
Cavity-era houses around Holbeach
The bungalows and estate houses around Holbeach are the age this affects most: built in the cavity wall era, with many filled with blown insulation years later. Plenty are now selling on, and a buyer's survey that questions the state of the fill can slow a sale as surely as any roof fault. Holbeach is the heart of our patch, so having us round to look is quick to arrange and costs you nothing.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.
Brilliant work! Reasonable price a friendly. Recommend to anyone. Sorted out my roof after 3 companies turned me down.
Amazing roof repair everything finished to a high standard, good communication and reasonable priced would definetly recommend.

Cavity Wall Insulation Removal in Holbeach: common questions
Could cavity wall insulation be causing the damp in my Holbeach home?
It can. Fill that has got wet or slumped bridges the cavity and carries moisture through to the inside face of the wall, which shows up as damp patches and cold spots. We come and look, photograph what we find, and give you an honest view of whether the fill is the likely cause.
How much does cavity wall insulation removal cost in Holbeach?
There is no set figure, because the size of the house and the state of the fill change the job. Looking costs you nothing, the price arrives in writing before any work starts, and it does not move afterwards.
How do you get the insulation out of the walls of a Holbeach house?
The fill is drilled out and extracted from the cavity rather than treated or topped up. The point is to leave the cavity clear so it can do its job again, keeping the two skins of the wall properly apart.
I am selling my bungalow in Holbeach and the survey has raised the cavity fill. What now?
