Spalding is home. We are based here, every job on our books starts from here, and the town's roofs are the ones we drive past on the way to everyone else's.

From the Welland to the bungalow estates

A market town this old wears every kind of roof. Georgian buildings stand along the River Welland, Victorian terraces fill the streets near the centre, and the big interwar and postwar bungalow estates that grew with the flower trade spread out beyond them. Each ages in its own way. Terraces lose slates and the lead around chimney stacks grows tired. Bungalow roofs from the middle of the last century are reaching the age where the felt beneath the tiles goes brittle. And everywhere in Spalding, fen wind rattles at ridge mortar until it cracks and washes out.

What happens when you ring us

You call or fill in the form, and we call you back. If nobody answers straight away we are up a roof; leave a message and you will hear from us. We come and look, photograph everything we find so you can see the problem for yourself, and put a price in writing. Customers tell us, without being asked, that the price quoted was the price they paid. On a full re-roof we fit Proctor Air breathable membrane, treated battens and dry-fix ridge and hips, so there is no mortar up there to fail. All work in Spalding, as everywhere we go, is guaranteed for at least five years and fully insured.

What people say

In their words, not ours

One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.

Roofing in Spalding: your questions

Are you really based in Spalding, or is it just a coverage claim?

We are based here. Spalding is where EverCrest works from, and the PE11 and PE12 area around it is the ground we cover week in, week out.

How much does a new roof cost in Spalding?

There is no honest single answer: size, pitch, tiles and what we find under the old covering all change it. We come and look for free, then give you a written quote, and that figure is what you pay. No roofer who quotes before seeing the roof is doing you a favour.

Can you deal with storm damage in Spalding outside working hours?

Yes. The business runs around the clock for emergency leaks and storm damage, so ring 01406 704369 whenever it happens and we will get the roof made safe.
