Cavity wall insulation removal in Sleaford
Failed or damp cavity fill extracted so the cavity can do its job again. Free quotes in writing.
Damp patches on inside walls are miserable at the best of times, and worse when they arrive after cavity wall insulation that was supposed to make the house better. When cavity fill is badly installed or gets wet, it can slump and bridge the cavity, carrying moisture from the outer wall to the inner one. The cure is not another product painted onto the wall inside. It is getting the failed fill out.
How cavity fill goes wrong
A cavity wall works by keeping the outer leaf and the inner leaf apart, so rain that soaks the outside never reaches the inside. Insulation that has slumped or got wet sits in that gap like a sponge pressed against both walls, and moisture tracks straight across it. The usual signs are damp patches and cold spots on inside walls, often on the side of the house that takes the weather.
What removal involves
We extract the material from the cavity, drilling out and removing the fill so the gap is clear and can do its job again. What we find is photographed and shown to you, the quote goes in writing before any work starts, and the completed work is put in writing as well. You are never asked to take our word for what was in your walls.
Cavity walls around Sleaford
Cavity construction arrived with the interwar and postwar building booms, and Sleaford has plenty of homes from that era, sitting between the stone and brick older buildings in the middle of town and the newer estates around its edges. A good number of those cavity-era houses had insulation blown in over the years, and where the fill has failed, the inside walls are now saying so. If you are selling or remortgaging a Sleaford home and the insulation has been queried, or you are simply tired of a damp patch that keeps coming back however often it is painted, removal deals with the cause rather than the symptom.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.

Amazing roof repair everything finished to a high standard, good communication and reasonable priced would definetly recommend.

Cavity Wall Insulation Removal in Sleaford: common questions
How do I know if the cavity wall insulation in my Sleaford house has failed?
The usual giveaways are damp patches and cold spots on inside walls, often on the side of the house that takes the weather, showing up at some point after the cavity was filled. We come and look for free, photograph what we find, and tell you plainly whether the fill is the culprit or something else is letting water in.
What will cavity wall insulation removal cost for a Sleaford house?
It hangs on the size of the house, the type of fill in the cavity and the access around the walls, so an honest figure needs a look first. The look is free, the price arrives in writing, and the written price is the one you pay.
We're remortgaging our Sleaford home and the valuer has queried the cavity insulation. Can you help?
Yes. We extract the failed fill so the cavity is clear and doing its job again, photograph what was found and what was done, and put the quote and the completed work in writing. That gives you something solid on paper to answer the question with.
Will removing the insulation make my Sleaford house colder?
Fill that has slumped or got wet is already causing cold spots rather than preventing them, and it is holding damp against your inner wall too. Removal takes out material that was doing harm. We will talk through what we find honestly at the quote visit, with photographs, so you can see the state of it for yourself.
