Dry ridge and dry verge in Holbeach
Mechanically fixed ridge and verge systems with no mortar to crack, fall and wash out.
Mortar is the weak point at the top and edges of most roofs. It cracks with the seasons, it lets water get in behind it, and eventually lumps of it end up in the gutter or on the drive. A dry ridge and dry verge system does away with mortar altogether: every ridge tile and verge unit is mechanically fixed, so there is nothing up there to crack and wash out.
Why we rate dry-fix systems
- No mortar, so no repeat rounds of repointing the ridge
- Mechanically fixed, so ridge tiles are held down in high wind
- A clean, even finish along ridge, hips and verges
- One job that ends the cycle of patching the same mortar
Fitted on its own or as part of a re-roof
We fit dry ridge and dry verge as a job in its own right, and we build it into full re-roofs as standard: our recent photographed re-roof was finished with dry-fix ridge and hips. One customer had a complete dry ridge and verge system installed after we sat down and went through what it would actually do for their roof. That is how we like to sell it, by explaining it rather than pushing it.
A sensible fix for Holbeach roofs
Around Holbeach the housing runs from older clay pantile cottages to bungalows and new estate homes, and cracked ridge mortar turns up on all of them. If you keep paying to have the same ridge repointed, fixing it mechanically once is worth a conversation.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.
Brilliant work! Reasonable price a friendly. Recommend to anyone. Sorted out my roof after 3 companies turned me down.
Amazing roof repair everything finished to a high standard, good communication and reasonable priced would definetly recommend.

Dry Ridge & Dry Verge in Holbeach: common questions
What is a dry ridge system, in plain terms?
Ridge tiles fixed down mechanically onto a fitted system instead of being bedded in mortar. Nothing up there can crack or wash out, and cracked ridge mortar is the failure that brings most people to us.
What does a dry ridge system cost to fit?
That depends on the length and shape of your ridge and verges, so we price it after we have seen the roof. The figure comes in writing and it holds; coming out to look costs you nothing.
Is dry verge worth it on an older cottage?
If you keep having the same mortar patched, yes, it is worth a conversation. We fitted a full dry ridge and verge system for one customer after walking them through exactly what it would do for their roof.
Do I have to wait for a re-roof to have it fitted?
No. We build dry-fix ridge and hips into our re-roofs, but we also fit dry ridge and dry verge to existing roofs as a job in its own right.
