Roof Repairs

Slipped tiles, leaks and flashing put right.

Most roofs do not need replacing, they need putting right. A slipped tile, a cracked ridge, a worn strip of lead: small faults let water in, and water does the expensive damage. We repair roofs across Spalding and the rest of south Lincolnshire, and we would always rather fix what you have than sell you a roof you do not need.

What our roof repair service includes

Slipped and broken tiles

Tiles that have slipped are refixed, and broken ones are replaced with a proper match so the repair does not shout at you from the street.

Leak repairs

Finding a leak means finding where the water actually enters, which is rarely where the stain appears. We track it down, repair the cause and check the surrounding area while we are up there.

Lead flashing

Flashing around chimneys, abutments and junctions splits and lifts with age. We dress and refix what is sound and renew in new lead what is not.

How we work

  1. Get in touch by phone on 01406 704369 or through the form, and we call you back.
  2. We inspect the roof and photograph the faults, so you see exactly what we see.
  3. We talk you through it, what needs doing now and what can wait, without pressure or upselling.
  4. Your quote arrives in writing, and the figure on it is the figure you pay.
  5. We book the work in and tell you when any scaffolding or materials will turn up.

Matching materials to your roof

A good repair should disappear into the roof around it. When one customer's tiles turned out to be discontinued, we hunted down matching ones from a salvage yard so the repaired patch blended in with the rest of the roof. Where lead needs renewing we fit new soakers, step flashing and aprons rather than smearing sealant over tired metal, because sealant is a delay, not a repair.

What people say

In their words, not ours

One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.

Questions we get asked about roof repairs

Can you repair a roof leak, or does the roof need replacing?

Nearly always it can be repaired. We look first, photograph the fault and tell you honestly which it is. If a repair will do the job, that is what we will recommend.

How much do roof repairs cost in Spalding?

It depends entirely on what we find, so we come and look for free rather than guessing. The quote is put in writing and it does not change once you have it.

My tiles are old. Can you match them?

Usually, yes. Where a tile is discontinued we source reclaimed matches, including from salvage yards, so the repair blends in rather than sitting there in a different colour.

Do you repair lead flashing?

Yes. Flashing around chimneys and walls is one of the most common leak points we deal with. We renew it in new lead where it has split or lifted, rather than patching over it.

How quickly can a repair be done?

Once you have accepted the written quote we book you in and keep you posted on the date. If water is actively coming in, ring 01406 704369 and ask about our emergency service instead.
