Roofing in Market Deeping

EverCrest Property Care Ltd covers Market Deeping and the villages around it. Tell us what needs doing and we will come and look at it.

  • Market Deeping, Lincolnshire
  • 01406 704369

Market Deeping stands on the River Welland where Lincolnshire meets Cambridgeshire, with the market place and St Guthlac's at its centre. It runs straight into Deeping St James along the river, and we cover the whole of PE6 across the Deepings, working out from Spalding about twelve miles to the north east.

Limestone country, and what that means up top

The Deepings sit on the edge of the limestone belt that runs down through Stamford, so the older buildings here are stone in a way the fen villages east of us are not. Stone walls carry clay pantile and slate, and some of the oldest roofs still have stone slate on them, which is specialist work and we will say so plainly when a roof wants a heritage slater rather than us. Along the river the ground is damp and the tree cover is heavy, which is a recipe for moss, blocked gutters and valleys that fill with debris. The modern estates on the Deeping St James side bring the usual younger roof problems instead: cracked tiles, loose verges, and fascias and guttering all reaching the end together.

What we take on here

  • Repairs to tile, slate and pantile, matched to what is there
  • Leaks, valleys and lead flashing put right
  • Chimney repointing and rebuilds
  • Moss removal and gutter clearing, which this riverside ground asks for often
  • Flat roofs, and full re-roofs where they are genuinely needed

How a job in the Deepings runs

You ring 01406 704369 or send the form and we call back and arrange a look. We photograph the roof and go through the pictures with you, explain what it actually needs, and put a free quote in writing. There is no pressure and no upselling, and if the honest answer is a repair rather than a new roof, that is what you will be told. Work is guaranteed for five years at minimum, we carry public liability and employer's liability insurance, and a share of what every finished job earns goes to the neonatal unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn.

What people say

In their words, not ours

One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.

Roofing in Market Deeping: your questions

Do you cover Deeping St James and West Deeping too?

We cover the whole PE6 area across the Deepings, so Deeping St James, West Deeping and the villages around them are all included, not just Market Deeping itself.

Our house is stone. Can you work on it?

Most of it, yes. Repairs, leadwork, chimneys, guttering and flat roofs on a stone property are ordinary work for us. If a roof genuinely needs a heritage stone slater we will tell you that rather than take on the wrong job.

The gutters block every autumn. Is that just the trees?

Largely, yes. Heavy tree cover near the Welland fills gutters and valleys faster than most places, and standing debris is what pushes water back under the tiles. Clearing it is a small job that prevents a much larger one.

How much do you charge to come and look?

Nothing. The visit, the photographs and the written quote cost you nothing and carry no obligation, and the price on the quote is the price you pay.
