Roofing in Stamford
EverCrest Property Care Ltd covers Stamford and the villages around it. Tell us what needs doing and we will come and look at it.
Stamford is one of the best-looking towns in England and its roofs are a large part of the reason. Limestone walls, stone slate, clay pantile and a conservation area covering most of the centre. We cover the whole of PE9, the town and the villages out towards Ketton and Barnack.
Stone town, careful work
A great deal of central Stamford is listed or sits inside the conservation area, and that changes what is allowed on a roof as much as what is sensible. Collyweston stone slate was quarried a few miles from here and it is still what many of these roofs wear. Work on a building like that is a specialist trade with its own rules, and we would rather say so plainly than pretend otherwise: talk to us about it and we will tell you honestly whether it is a job for us or one where you want a heritage stone slater. What we are straightforwardly good at is everything else, and Stamford has plenty of it.
The rest of Stamford
Outside the old centre the town is Victorian brick terraces, interwar semis and modern estates, and their roofs are the ordinary mix: clay pantile, slate and concrete interlocking tile. Slipped tiles, leaks traced back to where the water really gets in, chimneys re-leaded from soakers to back gutter, ridges and verges taken off failing mortar and fixed down mechanically, fascias and soffits, guttering, flat roofs over extensions and garages, moss removal and inspections. That is our daily work and it is the same in Stamford as anywhere.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.
Brilliant work! Reasonable price a friendly. Recommend to anyone. Sorted out my roof after 3 companies turned me down.
Amazing roof repair everything finished to a high standard, good communication and reasonable priced would definetly recommend.

Roofing in Stamford: your questions
My house is listed or in the conservation area. Can you work on it?
Tell us what the building is and we will give you a straight answer. Plenty of work on a listed building is ordinary roofing; some of it, particularly Collyweston stone slate, is a specialist heritage trade and we will say so rather than take on something that needs a different craftsman. You may also need consent before anything starts.
Do you cover the villages around Stamford?
Yes, the whole of PE9, so Ketton, Barnack, Easton and the rest are all covered the same as the town.
Can you match old clay pantiles?
Usually. Where a tile is out of production we have sourced matched replacements from salvage yards before, so the repair settles in with the rest of the roof instead of standing out.
How quickly can you look at a leak?
Ring 01406 704369 and we will tell you honestly when we can be there. If it is an emergency the phone is answered day or night, and if nobody picks up we are on a roof, so leave a message and you will get a call back.
