Roofing in Lincoln

EverCrest Property Care Ltd covers Lincoln and the villages around it. Tell us what needs doing and we will come and look at it.

  • Lincoln, Lincolnshire
  • 01406 704369

Lincoln is the biggest place on our list and the one where the roof under discussion is most likely to be old, listed, or looking down on the rest of the city. We cover the whole of it, LN1 through LN6, uphill and down.

Two cities, two sorts of roof

Uphill around the cathedral, the Bailgate and Steep Hill, the buildings are limestone with clay pantile and slate on top, plenty of them listed and most of the area under conservation control. Work up there is about matching materials and getting permission right before anything is ordered, and it is slow, careful roofing rather than quick roofing. Downhill through the West End, Monks Road and the terraces out towards the river it is Victorian brick and slate: shared chimney stacks, party wall flashing, valley gutters between houses, and a good deal of it now in multiple occupation and maintained accordingly.

What we take on across the city

  • Slate and pantile repairs matched to what is already on the roof
  • Shared and party wall stacks repointed or rebuilt, and flashing renewed
  • Valley gutters between terraces cleared, relined or replaced
  • Fascias, soffits and guttering, and moss cleaned off north-facing slopes
  • Flat roofs on extensions and dormers, and full re-roofs

How a Lincoln job runs

Ring 01406 704369 or send the form and we call you back to arrange a look. We photograph the roof and go through the pictures with you, so the decision is made on evidence rather than on our say-so. The quote is free, in writing, and the price quoted is the price paid. If your property is listed or in the conservation area we will tell you what that changes before anything is ordered rather than after. Work is insured and guaranteed for five years at minimum.

What people say

In their words, not ours

One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.

Roofing in Lincoln: your questions

Our house is listed. Can you work on it?

Much of it, yes. Repairs, leadwork, chimneys and guttering matched to the building are ordinary work. Where a roof needs a heritage stone slater, or where consent has to be in place first, we will tell you plainly rather than start and find out.

Do you cover uphill as well as down?

The whole city, LN1 to LN6. The two halves need quite different roofing, which is why we look before we quote rather than price off a postcode.

The valley between our terrace and next door keeps leaking. Whose is it?

Usually shared, which is why these get left. We will show you photographs of what is actually failing so you have something concrete to put to your neighbour, and we can quote for the whole valley rather than half of it.

You're based in Spalding. Will you really come to Lincoln?

Yes. Lincoln is on the list of areas we cover, and a job there is quoted and booked the same way as one ten minutes from the yard.
