Roof repairs in Stamford
Slipped tiles, leaks and failed lead put right across PE9, with photographs and a written price.
A slipped tile lets water in long before a ceiling shows anything. We repair roofs across Stamford and the PE9 villages, from a single tile to a whole elevation, and you see photographs of what is actually wrong before you get a price.
What we repair, and what we do not
Slate, clay pantile and concrete tile repairs are straightforwardly ours, as is every kind of lead work, guttering and flat roofing. Collyweston stone slate is a specialist heritage trade and we will tell you plainly when a roof wants one of those craftsmen instead. Being sent to the right person is worth more to you than being sold the wrong repair, and we would rather turn work down than do it badly on a building that deserves better.
Tracing a leak to its source
Water runs along battens and down rafters and drops where it likes, so the stain on the ceiling is rarely under the hole. We work back to the real entry point, lifting tiles where we need to rather than guessing from the ground, and photograph what is underneath so you can see the same evidence we did.
Lead, valleys and abutments
A lot of Stamford's roofs are cut about with valleys, abutments against neighbouring stone walls, and chimney stacks that were leaded decades ago. Lead fails at the joints and at anywhere someone has run a bead of mastic instead of dressing it properly. We renew it as lead: soakers, step flashing, apron and back gutter, dressed to the profile actually on your roof.
Matching what is up there
A repair that shouts is not really a repair. Where a tile is long out of production we have tracked down matched replacements from a salvage yard rather than fitting the nearest modern equivalent. Repairs carry the same five or ten year guarantee as our biggest jobs, and our customers have rated us 5.0 across Google, Checkatrade, MyBuilder and Bark.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.
Brilliant work! Reasonable price a friendly. Recommend to anyone. Sorted out my roof after 3 companies turned me down.
Amazing roof repair everything finished to a high standard, good communication and reasonable priced would definetly recommend.

Roof Repairs in Stamford: common questions
My roof is Collyweston stone slate. Can you repair it?
Tell us what the building is and we will give you a straight answer. Stone slate is a specialist heritage trade and some jobs genuinely want one of those craftsmen. Plenty of other work on the same building, lead, guttering, flat roofs, is ordinary roofing and is ours.
Do I need consent for a repair on a listed building?
Like-for-like repairs often do not, but it depends on the building and the work, and it is worth checking with the conservation officer rather than assuming. We will flag it rather than let you find out afterwards.
How do you find a leak with no obvious hole?
By working back from where the water lands to where it enters, which means getting up and lifting tiles rather than guessing. You get photographs of the actual entry point.
Can you match old clay pantiles?
Usually. Where a tile is out of production we have sourced matched replacements from salvage before, so the repair settles in with the rest of the roof instead of standing out.
