Roof repairs in Crowland
Slipped tiles, cracked ridge mortar and lifted verges put right, photographed as we go and quoted free in writing.
Most roof repairs in Crowland come back to the same thing: wind, and mortar that has stopped doing its job. Out on open fen the weather works at the edges of a roof rather than the middle of it, so the ridge, the verges and the exposed slope wear out long before the rest.
The repairs this town actually needs
- Ridge tiles re-bedded where the mortar has cracked and washed out
- Verges made good along the gable, where wind gets under the edge
- Slipped and broken tiles matched and re-set on the exposed slope
- Lead flashing renewed at chimneys and abutments
- Leaks traced back to where the water is actually getting in
Repairing the cause, not the symptom
If the same ridge has been re-bedded twice already, a third go in the same mortar is money spent on the same result. That is the point at which a dry ridge system is worth talking about: fixed mechanically rather than stuck down, so there is nothing up there for the weather to wash out. We will tell you which situation your roof is in, and we would rather do the smaller job well than sell you the bigger one.
Older roofs around the abbey
The properties near the abbey and Trinity Bridge include some genuinely old buildings carrying clay pantile, and an old roof deserves a repair that matches what is already there rather than the nearest tile on the merchant's shelf. Where a tile is out of production we will look for a salvage match. You see photographs of everything before you decide, the quote is free and in writing, and the work is guaranteed and insured.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.
Brilliant work! Reasonable price a friendly. Recommend to anyone. Sorted out my roof after 3 companies turned me down.
Amazing roof repair everything finished to a high standard, good communication and reasonable priced would definetly recommend.

Roof Repairs in Crowland: common questions
The ridge has been re-done twice and keeps failing. Why?
Because mortar is being asked to do a job the wind will not let it keep. Once a ridge has failed repeatedly, a mechanically fixed dry ridge is usually the honest answer, and we will show you the photographs that make the case rather than just assert it.
Only one side of the roof ever goes. Should I do both?
Not necessarily. The sheltered slope often has years left in it, and we will tell you if it does. Doing work that is not needed yet is not a service.
Can you match the pantiles on an older Crowland house?
Usually. Matching is the whole point on an older roof, and where a tile is long discontinued we will hunt a salvage match rather than leave a patch that announces itself from the road.
What does a repair cost?
We will not name a figure for a roof we have not seen. The visit, the photographs and the written quote are free, and the price quoted is the price paid.
