What goes into one of our roofs

On a recent full re-roof we stripped the old covering back and rebuilt with Proctor Air breathable membrane, treated battens and anthracite interlocking tiles, with the ridge and hips dry-fixed rather than mortared. The chimney got new lead soakers, step flashing, an apron and a back gutter, and new guttering and downpipes finished the job. Those are the materials we use because they last.

Checked by someone who does not work for us

On one full re-roof, an independent Building Control inspector from Boston Borough Council checked the work twice and signed it off.
