Chimney repairs and rebuilds in Spalding
Repointing, rebuilds, take-downs and the lead work around the stack, all photographed and quoted in writing before we start.
The chimney takes more weather than any other part of a house, and it usually shows first in the mortar joints and the lead around the base. We repoint, repair and rebuild chimneys across Spalding, and where a stack is past saving, or simply not wanted any more, we take it down and make good the roof where it stood.
Old stacks on old streets
The Victorian terraces near the town centre and the Georgian buildings along the River Welland carry some of the oldest chimneys in Spalding, and a stack that age often needs repointing long before it needs rebuilding. We will tell you honestly which yours needs, after we have been up, looked properly and photographed it so you can see the condition for yourself.
Rebuilds and take-downs
Where the brickwork is too far gone, rebuilding is the right answer: one customer had a chimney taken down and rebuilt, and another had theirs repaired with new lead work all round it. And if a redundant stack is doing nothing except letting water into the house, taking it down altogether is often the tidiest fix. We remove it and make good the tiles so the roof reads as if it was never there.
The lead around the stack
A sound chimney can still leak where it meets the roof. We renew soakers, step flashing, aprons and back gutters around stacks, the same lead details we fitted new on our photographed re-roof, because the junction between brickwork and tiles is where chimney trouble so often begins.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.
Brilliant work! Reasonable price a friendly. Recommend to anyone. Sorted out my roof after 3 companies turned me down.
Amazing roof repair everything finished to a high standard, good communication and reasonable priced would definetly recommend.

Chimney Repairs & Rebuilds in Spalding: common questions
How much is chimney repointing in Spalding?
It varies with the size of the stack, the state of the joints and the access, so an honest price only comes after a proper look. We come out for free, photograph the chimney so you can see what we can see, and put the price in writing. That figure is what you pay.
Can you remove a chimney completely?
Yes. We do take-downs and full removals as well as rebuilds, and we make good the roof where the stack stood. One customer had a chimney taken down and rebuilt; if yours is redundant, removing it can be the more sensible option.
How do you reach a chimney on a terraced house?
With proper access, arranged as part of the job. Chimney work needs safe working at the highest point of the roof, and on terraced streets the scaffold takes some planning. We handle that, and you are told when it will arrive before anything starts.
My chimney looks fine but it leaks around the bottom. Why?
Often the brickwork is innocent and the lead is the culprit. Soakers, step flashing, aprons and back gutters around the stack wear out, split or slip, and water gets in at the junction with the tiles. We check the lead as a matter of course and renew what has failed.
