Roof cleaning and moss removal in Grantham
Moss stripped and roofs cleaned down, with the process explained before you commit to anything.
Moss looks harmless from the pavement. Up on the roof it holds water against the tiles, and when it comes down in clumps it blocks gutters and downpipes on the way. We strip moss and clean roofs down across Grantham, and we explain exactly how before you say yes to anything.
We look and explain before we quote
Every cleaning job starts with us at the house, looking at what is actually growing on the roof and what state the tiles are in underneath it. One customer told us afterwards that the whole process was explained step by step at the quote visit, and that is how every visit goes: what we would do, in what order, and what you would see when it is finished. Then the price goes in writing, and the price quoted is the price paid.
More than just the moss
Stripping a roof of moss means someone is finally up there looking closely at it, so if we spot a slipped tile or a failing mortar joint while we work, you hear about it, with photographs. Not as a sales pitch: as information. Plenty of roofs need nothing more than the clean they were quoted for, and we are happy to say so. If your roof turns out to be in better shape than you feared, that is simply good news, and you will hear it from us straight.
Mossy roofs are everywhere in Grantham
Grantham's mix of older terraces, stone-built properties and modern estates grows moss like anywhere else, especially on shaded, north-facing slopes that never quite dry out. We cover the town and the villages around it, NG31 to NG33, so a mossy roof out in a village is as easy for us to get to as one in the middle of Grantham. The work is insured and guaranteed for five or ten years depending on the work, like everything else we do.
- Five or ten years' guarantee on our work
- No-cost quotes, given in writing
- The figure we quote is the figure you pay
- Liability insurance held on every job
- 5.0 rated everywhere customers review us

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.

Roof Cleaning & Moss Removal in Grantham: common questions
What does roof moss removal cost?
It varies with the size and pitch of the roof and how established the moss is, so we never quote blind. We come and look for nothing, explain the process step by step, and put the price in writing. It does not change once agreed.
Will cleaning damage my tiles?
That is exactly why we inspect the roof before quoting. We check what condition the tiles are in first and explain how we would work on your particular roof. If we thought cleaning would do a roof more harm than good, we would tell you so.
Why bother removing moss at all?
Because moss holds moisture against the roof and sheds into the gutters below, where it causes blockages and overflows. A clean roof drains the way it was designed to, and it also lets faults be seen rather than hidden.
