Chimney repairs and rebuilds in Grantham
Repointing, rebuilds, take-downs and proper lead work around the stack, priced in writing.
Chimneys take the worst of the weather and get the least attention. We look after them across Grantham: repointing tired mortar joints, rebuilding stacks that are failing, taking chimneys down where they are past saving or simply no longer wanted, and renewing the lead around them. A stack that has been quietly shedding mortar for years rarely announces itself until the water is already inside, so it pays to have it looked at properly.
Repointing, rebuilds and take-downs
Not every tired stack needs the same answer, so we start by telling you which yours actually needs. One customer had a chimney taken down and rebuilt; another had theirs repaired with new lead work fitted around it. Sometimes repointing buys a stack many more years, sometimes a rebuild is the only honest option, and sometimes, on a chimney nobody uses, a take-down is the sensible choice. We will say which and why, with photographs to back it up.
The lead around the stack
Plenty of chimney leaks are nothing to do with the brickwork: it is the lead where the stack meets the roof that has failed. We renew soakers, step flashing, aprons and back gutters so that junction sheds water properly again, the same lead details we fit on our full re-roofs. It is fiddly, unglamorous work, and it is usually the part that decides how long a chimney repair lasts.
Stacks on Grantham's older streets
The Victorian terraces around Grantham town centre carry long runs of shared stacks, and the town's stone-built older properties have chimneys that have stood through a lot of winters. We cover Grantham and the villages around it, NG31 to NG33, and every chimney job gets the same treatment as the rest of our work: a free quote in writing, a price that does not move, a five or ten year guarantee and full insurance. Where the job needs scaffolding, we arrange it and tell you when it will arrive along with the skip and materials.
- Every job insured, public and employer's liability
- Five or ten years' guarantee
- Your quote comes free and in writing
- The written price never moves
- A 5.0 customer rating across four review sites

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.
Brilliant work! Reasonable price a friendly. Recommend to anyone. Sorted out my roof after 3 companies turned me down.
Amazing roof repair everything finished to a high standard, good communication and reasonable priced would definetly recommend.

Chimney Repairs & Rebuilds in Grantham: common questions
Roughly what does chimney repointing cost?
We don't do rough numbers, because stacks vary too much in height, condition and access. What we do is come and look for free, show you photographs of the joints, and give you a written price that is the price you pay.
Can you remove a chimney we never use?
Yes. Take-downs are part of what we do, and we have taken a chimney down and rebuilt one for customers before now. We will talk you through what removal involves for your particular stack before you decide.
My chimney leaks but the brickwork looks fine. Why?
Often the water is getting past the lead where the stack meets the tiles, not through the bricks at all. We check the soakers, flashing, apron and back gutter as a matter of course and photograph whatever we find.
Will chimney work on my Grantham house need scaffolding?
Some chimney jobs do, and if yours does we arrange it as part of the job. You are told before work starts when the scaffolding, skip and materials will arrive, so there are no surprises.
