Emergency roof repairs in Grimsby

Storm damage made safe day or night. Ring 01406 704369, and if we don't answer we're on a roof: leave a message and we'll ring you straight back.

  • Grimsby, Lincolnshire

Wind coming off the Humber has nothing in its way, and a roof already weakened by salt gives up under it sooner than an inland one would. If something has gone in Grimsby, ring 01406 704369 whatever the hour.

What a blow off the estuary takes

  • Slates lifted clean off, often several in a run
  • Ridge and verge tiles worked loose along an exposed edge
  • Gutter lengths pulled away where the brackets have rusted through
  • Lead or flashing rolled back off a stack
  • Sheets off garage and outbuilding roofs

Gutters coming down is a Grimsby speciality and it is worth naming. The bracket rusts, the wind gets under a full gutter, and a length of it ends up in the garden with a wet wall behind it. It is not a roof failure and it does not need a roof repair, but it does need doing.

Made safe first

We stop water getting in and secure anything that could come down, then photograph what we found and show you before quoting the permanent repair in writing. Where fixings have corroded we will point that out in the photographs, because it usually explains why the damage happened where it did and tells you what else is likely to follow.

What people say

In their words, not ours

One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.

Emergency Roof Repairs in Grimsby: common questions

Half my gutter has come down. Is that a roofing job?

It is one we do, yes. Usually the brackets have corroded rather than the gutter failing, and replacing like for like just repeats it in a few years. We will show you what actually went.

Do you answer the phone at night?

Day and night. If nobody picks up we are up a roof, so leave a message and you will get a call straight back.

Several slates went at once. Will more follow?

Quite possibly, and that is worth knowing rather than finding out. When salt has taken the nails, the slates that went are the ones the wind reached first. We will photograph the fixings so you can see the state of the rest.

Will I get a price before the repair?

Making safe comes first, then photographs and a written quote for the permanent repair. The price quoted is the price paid.
