“They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out.”
Before you ask
Questions people ask
What does chimney repointing cost in Wisbech?
It depends on the height of the stack, the access and how far the joints have gone, so we price it after seeing it. The visit is free and the price comes in writing.
Can you remove a chimney we no longer use?
Yes. We take stacks down and make good the roof where they stood. On a terrace we talk through the neighbours' side of the stack before anything is priced.
Why is the wall by our chimney breast damp?
Very often it is failed lead where the stack meets the roof rather than the chimney itself. We check the soakers, step flashing, apron and back gutter and photograph what we find before suggesting anything.
Are you insured for chimney work?
Yes. We carry public liability and employer's liability insurance on every job, chimney work included.

More about chimney repairs & rebuilds in Wisbech
Wisbech's old town is a skyline of chimney stacks, many of them two centuries old and built for coal fires nobody has lit in decades. Frost works on the mortar a little more every winter, and the first sign is often a piece of brick or pot in the garden.
Repointing, rebuilding or taking it down
If the bricks are sound and only the joints have gone, repointing puts it right. If the stack has moved or the brick faces are crumbling, we rebuild it. And if the chimney does nothing but let water in, taking it down and making good the roof is often the sensible answer. One customer had a chimney taken down and rebuilt by us; another had theirs repaired with new lead fitted around it.
The lead is usually the leak
Most of the damp we trace near chimneys comes from the junction with the roof, not the brickwork. That junction depends on its lead: soakers, step flashing, an apron at the front and a back gutter behind. We renew what has failed in proper lead, because a bead of sealant is a one-summer fix.
Shown, then priced
Chimney faults are hard to see from the street, which makes chimney work easy to oversell. So we photograph the stack close up and show you exactly what is there, explain it plainly and put the price in writing. Ring 01945 750142. Every chimney job is guaranteed for five or ten years depending on the work, and we are insured on every job.
