Roof Inspections
A full roof check before you buy or after a storm.
Don't get your roof done till we've seen it. That is how we think every roofing job should start, including our own. A roof inspection is a full check of the whole roof, with photographs of everything we find, so that any decision you make about the roof afterwards, buying the house, claiming for a storm, booking a repair, is made with your eyes open. One customer called it a roof MOT, and that is exactly the spirit of it.
When an inspection earns its keep
Before you buy a house
A survey often stops at "roof appears in fair condition, further investigation recommended". We are the further investigation: up close, photographed, in plain English.
After a storm
Wind damage is not always visible from the pavement. A post-storm check tells you whether tiles have shifted or lead has lifted, before the next rain proves it the hard way.
Before committing to work
If another quote has left you unsure, an inspection gives you an independent picture of what the roof genuinely needs. One landlord had us clear the gutters of a rental property and give its roof the full MOT while we were there, and now has a photographic record of its condition.
How an inspection works
- Contact us on 01406 704369 or through the form; we phone back to arrange it.
- We go over the roof properly, coverings, ridge, verges, flashings, chimney and roofline, photographing as we go.
- You see every photograph and get the findings explained in plain terms, not trade jargon.
- If work is needed, you get a written quote with a price that holds. If it is not, we say so and leave you alone.
There is no pressure at any stage and no invented faults, which is rather the point of asking us to look before anyone starts pulling tiles off.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.
Brilliant work! Reasonable price a friendly. Recommend to anyone. Sorted out my roof after 3 companies turned me down.

Questions we get asked about roof inspections
What is a roof MOT?
It is what one of our customers christened the inspection, and the name stuck: a full check of the roof, top to bottom, with photographs, telling you what is sound, what is wearing and what needs doing.
How much does a roof inspection cost?
Ring 01406 704369 and we will confirm the cost for your property in writing before anything is booked, and as with everything we do, the price you are given is the price you pay.
Should I get the roof inspected before buying a house?
We think so. It is the most expensive surface on the building and the one a general survey inspects least closely. An hour of checking beats years of surprises.
What do I actually receive from the inspection?
Photographs of the roof and every issue found, explained to you in plain terms, plus a written quote if anything needs attention. If nothing does, you simply get the good news.
Will you pressure me into repairs afterwards?
No. The inspection exists so you can decide from evidence. Plenty of roofs we check need little or nothing, and we tell their owners exactly that.
