Roofing in Gedney
EverCrest Property Care Ltd covers Gedney and the villages around it. Tell us what needs doing and we will come and look at it.
Gedney is less a single village than a parish scattered across the fen east of Holbeach, gathered loosely around its landmark medieval church. Gedney Drove End, Gedney Broadgate and Gedney Dyke are all the same patch to us, and we cover every corner of it from our base in Spalding.
Fen roofs take the weather first
Out here there is nothing to break the wind before it reaches a roof. Farmhouses and cottages on the open fen catch the weather at full strength, and it tells: ridges lose their mortar, tiles creep and slip, and rain gets driven up under courses that would stay dry in a sheltered street. The sensible answer on properties this exposed is to keep on top of the small faults before they become ceilings down. That is why a thorough check with photographs every so often, the roof MOT as one customer called it, earns its keep around Gedney, and why we treat a loose tile spotted in autumn as a job for now rather than for spring.
A Gedney job, step by step
It starts with a phone call or the form, and we ring you back. We come to the property, photograph the roof from up close, and show you exactly what we have found before anyone talks about work. The quote is free and comes in writing, and the figure on it is the figure you pay. From emergency leaks made safe at any hour through to complete re-roofs, everything is guaranteed for a minimum of five years and carried out with full insurance in place.
Storm damage and leaks made safe, day or night.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.

Roofing in Gedney: your questions
Do you cover Gedney Drove End, Gedney Broadgate and Gedney Dyke?
All of them. The scattered parts of the parish count as Gedney to us, and being spread out on the fen makes no difference to whether we will come.
How do you work out the price for roofing work in Gedney?
By looking, never by guessing. We visit, photograph the roof and quote from what is actually there, in writing and for free. Whatever the written quote says is what the job costs you.
Can you get out to an isolated farmhouse in Gedney parish in bad weather?
Ring 01406 704369 and we will get to you. The phone is answered day and night for emergencies, and if the roof cannot be permanently fixed on the spot we make it safe first and return for the full repair.
