Emergency roof repairs in Gedney
Storm damage and roof leaks made safe day or night, anywhere in the parish. If we do not answer 01406 704369 we are on a roof, so leave a message and we will ring you back.
There is not much between Gedney and the Wash to slow the weather down. When a gale lifts tiles off the roof, or a leak starts coming through the bedroom ceiling at midnight, ring 01406 704369. We answer day or night. If nobody picks up we are up on a roof somewhere, so leave a message and we will call you straight back.
One parish, lots of scattered roofs
Gedney is not really one village. It is a parish scattered across the fen: the old village around the medieval church, Gedney Dyke, Gedney Broadgate, and Gedney Drove End right out by the marsh. Between them sit farmhouses on their own down long drives and cottages in twos and threes. We cover every corner of it, and being a mile from your nearest neighbour is no reason to sit under a leak.
Making it safe comes first
The first job in any roofing emergency is to stop the water and make the roof safe, whatever the hour. Storm damage, slipped tiles letting rain in, a leak that has suddenly got worse: we deal with the immediate problem first so the house is protected.
Then we look at the cause properly. We photograph what we find up there so you can see exactly what we are seeing, explain what the roof needs, and give you a price in writing. The price we quote is the price you pay.
The proper repair, not just a patch
Once the roof is safe we get the lasting repair booked in. One customer had an emergency leak repaired at two days' notice, with the damaged tiles and felt replaced, and that is the standard we work to: sort it quickly, sort it properly. Repairs are guaranteed for five or ten years depending on the work, and we carry public liability and employer's liability insurance on every job, so an out-of-the-way farmhouse gets the same cover as a house in town.
Out here the wind will always have another go. What matters is that the repair holds when it does.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.
Brilliant work! Reasonable price a friendly. Recommend to anyone. Sorted out my roof after 3 companies turned me down.
