Re-roofing and new roofs in Sutton Bridge
Full re-roofs and new roofs, tiled and slate, specified for one of the most exposed patches we cover. Free quotes, in writing.
Stand by the Cross Keys swing bridge on a rough day and you can feel what the roofs of Sutton Bridge put up with. A roof reaching the end of its life out here does not fail politely. It lets go a tile at a time, every windy night, until the patching becomes a habit and the felt underneath has given up. At that point a re-roof stops being the expensive option and starts being the sensible one.
Repair or re-roof? We tell you straight
We start by getting up there and photographing what we find, then going through the pictures with you on the ground. If the roof has years left in it, we say so and quote for the repair instead. If it doesn't, you will see exactly why in the photographs. No pressure either way, and the quote is free and in writing.
Specified for the weather, not the brochure
An exposed roof needs the right details more than a sheltered one does. On a recent full re-roof we fitted Proctor Air breathable membrane over treated battens, anthracite interlocking tiles, and dry-fix ridge and hips, with new lead soakers, step flashing, apron and back gutter to the chimney, plus new guttering and downpipes. Dry-fix ridge and hips matter in a place like Sutton Bridge: every component is mechanically fixed, so there is no mortar bed for the salt air and driven rain to crack and wash out. Interlocking tiles clip together and hold their line in wind that would be rattling an older roof.
How the job runs
You get the price in writing before anything starts, and the price quoted is the price paid. Then you are told when the scaffolding, the skip and the materials will arrive, so the job never just happens to you. On one of our full re-roofs, an independent Building Control inspector from Boston Borough Council checked the work twice and signed it off. Every roof we build is guaranteed for 25 years, we carry public liability and employer's liability insurance, and a contribution from every completed job goes to the neonatal unit charity at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn. A new roof in Sutton Bridge should be the last one you think about for a very long time, and that is how we build them.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.
Brilliant work! Reasonable price a friendly. Recommend to anyone. Sorted out my roof after 3 companies turned me down.
Amazing roof repair everything finished to a high standard, good communication and reasonable priced would definetly recommend.

Re-Roofing & New Roofs in Sutton Bridge: common questions
What does a new roof cost in Sutton Bridge?
There is no single figure worth printing, because size, tiles, lead work and what we find under the old covering all change it. We look for free, explain what your roof needs and put the price in writing. What is on that quote is what you pay.
Which materials cope best on an exposed site like this?
Mechanically fixed details earn their keep here. Dry-fix ridge and hips have no mortar to crack and wash out, interlocking tiles hold each other in line in the wind, and a breathable membrane underneath keeps the roof space dry.
Is the work checked by anyone other than you?
It can be, and we welcome it. On one full re-roof an independent Building Control inspector from Boston Borough Council checked the job twice before signing it off. Our own work is guaranteed for 25 years.
Will you push me towards a full re-roof when a repair would do?
No. We photograph the roof and show you what we found. If a repair will genuinely last, that is what we quote for. No pressure, no upselling.
