Re-roofing and new roofs in Long Sutton
Full re-roofs and new roofs, tiled and slate, built with proper materials and guaranteed for 25 years.
There comes a point where patching a tired roof is throwing good money after bad, and when a roof in Long Sutton reaches it we would rather say so plainly than keep charging you for repairs that will not hold. A re-roof is a big decision, so here is exactly how we go about one.
What goes into one of our re-roofs
We strip back to the timbers and build up properly: Proctor Air breathable membrane, treated battens, and the covering fixed to last. On a recent full re-roof that meant anthracite interlocking tiles with dry-fix ridge and hips, new lead soakers, step flashing, apron and back gutter to the chimney, and new guttering and downpipes to finish the job off. We work in tile and slate, and the same care goes into both.
Checked by someone who does not work for us
On one of our full re-roofs, an independent Building Control inspector from Boston Borough Council checked the work twice and signed it off. We like that sort of scrutiny. A roof should stand up to a second pair of eyes, not just look tidy from the street.
How the job runs
You ring or send the form and we call you back. We come out to Long Sutton, get up and look, photograph what we find so you can see the state of the roof yourself, and explain what it needs. You get a price in writing, and then you are told when the scaffolding, skip and materials will arrive, so there are no surprises on your drive. If the roof does not need fully replacing, we will tell you that too.
Older houses and newer ones
Long Sutton has older cottages that deserve materials in keeping and modern estates where the choice is simpler, and we talk the options through with you at the quote stage either way. Whatever goes on, the finished roof is guaranteed for 25 years, with public liability and employer's liability insurance covering every day of the job.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.
Brilliant work! Reasonable price a friendly. Recommend to anyone. Sorted out my roof after 3 companies turned me down.
Amazing roof repair everything finished to a high standard, good communication and reasonable priced would definetly recommend.

Re-Roofing & New Roofs in Long Sutton: common questions
What does a new roof cost in Long Sutton?
No two roofs price the same: size, covering, access and what we find under the old tiles all move the figure. We come and look for free, the quote arrives in writing, and what we quote is what you pay.
How long does a full re-roof take?
It depends on the size of the roof and what the weather allows, so we will not pluck a number from the air. What we do promise is that you are told when scaffolding, skip and materials arrive, so you always know what happens next.
Will a new roof look right on an older cottage?
It should, and that starts at the quote. We talk through coverings that suit the age of the house before anything is ordered, and you see photographs of the roof as it is so the decision is an informed one.
Is the work signed off by anyone independent?
It can be. On one full re-roof an independent Building Control inspector checked the job twice and signed it off. We are happy for any of our work to be looked over.
