Roof repairs in Sutton Bridge
Slipped tiles, washed-out ridge mortar and leaks put right, with photographs of what we find and a price in writing before any work starts.
Roofs in Sutton Bridge work harder than most. With the Wash at the end of the river and nothing much to slow the wind down, salt air and sideways rain get at mortar and fixings sooner than they would inland. The first signs are usually the same: a tile out of line after a rough night, ridge mortar turning crumbly and washing into the gutter, or a damp patch that only appears when the rain is being driven at one side of the house.
The repairs we do most around here
- Slipped, cracked and broken tiles refixed or replaced.
- Ridge and verge mortar that has cracked or washed out put right.
- Leaks traced back to the actual cause, not just the stain on the ceiling.
- Lead flashing renewed around chimneys and abutments where it has lifted or split.
Before anything is priced, we come and look. We get on the roof, photograph what we find and go through the pictures with you, so you are deciding based on what is actually up there.
A repair should disappear into the roof
Patching a roof with whatever tile is on the van is how repairs end up shouting at you from the street. When one customer's tiles turned out to be discontinued, we matched them from a salvage yard so the finished repair blended in with the rest of the roof. Older properties around Sutton Bridge deserve the same trouble taken, and we take it.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.

Roof Repairs in Sutton Bridge: common questions
Should I get my roof checked after a big blow off the Wash?
If you have found tiles in the garden, can see one sitting out of line, or hear rattling in the wind, yes. We come out, look properly and photograph anything we find. If the roof is fine, we tell you it is fine.
Why does ridge mortar fail faster in Sutton Bridge?
Exposure. Wind-driven rain and salt air work at the mortar year round, and once a hairline crack opens, water gets in and the weather does the rest. It is the most common fault we see on exposed roofs.
What do roof repairs cost?
There is no honest one-size answer, because no two roofs are carrying the same faults. Looking costs you nothing: we inspect, photograph and quote in writing, and the figure on that quote is what you pay.
My tiles are decades old. Can you still match them?
Usually, yes. Where a tile has been discontinued we source matches from salvage yards, as we did for one customer, so the repair sits quietly in the roof instead of standing out.
