Re-roofing and new roofs in Moulton
Full re-roofs and new roofs, tiled and slate, priced free and in writing before a single tile is ordered.
Moulton looks after the tallest windmill in Britain, right in the middle of the village. A place that keeps a landmark like that standing clearly cares how its buildings are kept, and that is the attitude we bring to a re-roof: do it once, and do it properly.
When a repair stops being the answer
Every roof reaches a point where patching costs more than it saves. Tiles failing across the whole slope rather than one or two, felt gone brittle underneath, mortar washing out faster than it can sensibly be replaced. We will tell you honestly which side of that line your Moulton roof is on. Plenty of roofs we look at need a repair, not a replacement, and when that is true we say so.
What goes into one of our re-roofs
On a recent full re-roof, photographed from strip-out to finish, we used:
- Proctor Air breathable membrane over treated battens
- Anthracite interlocking tiles, though we work in slate as well as tile
- Dry-fix ridge and hips, mechanically fastened, with no mortar to crack and wash out
- New lead soakers, step flashing, apron and back gutter at the chimney
- New guttering and downpipes to finish the job off
That is not a special specification we roll out for photographs. It is how we think a roof should be built.
How the job runs
It starts with a visit. We look at the whole roof, photograph what we find, and explain what it needs, then you get the full price in writing. Nothing starts until you are happy, and once you are, you are told when the scaffolding, the skip and the materials will each arrive. No surprises on the drive, no guessing what happens next. The finished roof is guaranteed for 25 years, we are insured on every job, and a contribution from every completed job goes to the neonatal unit charity at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn. A new roof in Moulton should outlast the paperwork, and we build it that way.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.
Brilliant work! Reasonable price a friendly. Recommend to anyone. Sorted out my roof after 3 companies turned me down.
Amazing roof repair everything finished to a high standard, good communication and reasonable priced would definetly recommend.

Re-Roofing & New Roofs in Moulton: common questions
What does a new roof cost in Moulton?
It depends on the size, the shape and what we find underneath, so we will not throw a figure out before we have seen it. We come and look for free, photograph everything, and put the full price in writing. That written price is what you pay.
Is your work checked by anyone besides you?
It can be, and we welcome it. On one full re-roof an independent Building Control inspector from Boston Borough Council examined the job twice and signed it off.
Do you work in slate as well as tile?
Yes, both. Full re-roofs and new roofs in tile or slate, finished with dry-fix ridge and hips so there is no mortar to crack away in the weather.
How will we know when work on our Moulton roof is starting?
Once you accept the written quote we tell you when the scaffolding, the skip and the materials will each arrive. You are never left wondering what comes next.
