Roof repairs in Long Sutton
Slipped tiles, leaks and lead flashing put right, with photographs of what we find and a price in writing before any work starts.
Long Sutton knows what a good roof looks like. St Mary's church has carried one of the oldest lead spires in England for around seven centuries, which sets the bar rather high for the rest of us. Your roof does not need to last seven hundred years, but it does need to keep the rain out, and that is a job worth doing properly.
Slipped tiles, leaks and lead
Most repairs start small: a tile that slipped in the last blow, a cracked one letting water past, flashing that has lifted or split. We chase the leak back to its source rather than patching where the stain happens to be, because water rarely comes in where it shows. Lead work is a big part of what we do, and we fit new soakers, step flashing, aprons and back gutters where the old lead has given up.
Repairs on older cottages
Long Sutton has its share of older cottages, and repairing them takes a bit more thought than nailing on whatever the merchant has in stock. On one repair we tracked down discontinued tiles from a salvage yard so the patch blended in with the rest of the roof instead of shouting about itself. If your roof is old, we would rather match it than mark it.

What people say
In their words, not ours
One of the problems of finding a roofer when you are an older person is the thought of being scammed, especially given the increasing numbers of rogue traders together with the high costs at stake especially if the work is poor or non existent. We trawled a lot of roofers and found varying prices and limited experience and ‘one man bands’ offering little or no guarantees for their work. We came across Fred’s newly formed EverCrest Property Care Ltd Company and were initially concerned at the limited 3 months or so that they had been trading for, albeit that Fred had been a Sole Trader for some 6 years. So we undertook a ‘due diligence’ on the company and found they had worked on a limited number of roofing projects in the start up time. However having had a number of positive conversations with Fred we decided to give his company a chance having had a very good response and price to our required specification that formed the basis of our Building Control Application through Boston Borough Council. They say you can only make a first impression once and EverCrest Property Care Ltd certainly made an excellent impression indeed, in fact the work they undertook was first class and our Building Control Inspector was equally impressed with the standard of works they carried out. Our project involved replacing a main roof on a detached property and likewise on a kitchen extension. Work commenced on a Friday with the scaffolding being erected along with the delivery of two skips. On the Monday morning around 8:30am a team of 7 arrived on site and by 10am both roofs had been stripped and the Building Inspector was called early to check out the structure prior to the roofers installing the new insulation, membrane and battening in readiness for the new soffits, guttering and tiles being installed from Tuesday onwards. By Thursday the project had been completed and the Building Inspector returned first thing Friday morning and signed off the work having been impressed with the finished work. On the basis of the above experience we would have no hesitation in recommending EverCrest Property Care Ltd as a suitable and very experienced roofing contractor and would be happy to give any references to their standard of works.

Roof Repairs in Long Sutton: common questions
Can you match the tiles on an older cottage roof?
Usually, yes. Where a tile is discontinued we look for reclaimed ones: on one repair we matched discontinued tiles from a salvage yard so the finished patch blended in with the rest of the roof.
Do you repair lead flashing or just replace it?
Whichever the lead actually needs. Sound lead that has lifted can often be redressed and secured, but split or thinned lead wants replacing. We photograph it, show you, and price the honest option in writing.
How much does a roof repair cost in Long Sutton?
It depends entirely on what is wrong, so we do not give numbers before we have looked. The look costs you nothing, the quote arrives in writing, and the figure on it is the figure you pay.
How do I know you will not invent extra work?
Because you see the evidence. We photograph what we find on the roof and talk you through it before anything is priced, and customers tell us themselves that there was no pressure and no upselling.
